05. Sinead O’Connor disses the Pope
The Scene: One of the most infamous moments in Saturday Night Live history featured Sinead O’Connor “desecrating” a picture of the Pope on live television. During an a cappella version of Bob Marley's "War," which O’Connor intended as a protest of sexual abuse within the Catholic Church, the singer pulled out a photo of Pope John Paul II and tore it down the middle.
