Based on the Harmony Bobkat model, which was produced from 1963 to 1966, and was also branded by Airline, Supro, Kay and many others, the Bobkat is fun playing guitar that in its day was the “go to” model for students and pros. And the new Airline Bobkat, with a street price of less than $400 US is on target to hit that same market.
The Fender Jaguar electric guitar is 50 years old. Unveiled in 1962, it was the last of the guitar maker’s four most famous electric guitars to be introduced, and, as it turned out, the last major six-string creation of the enigmatic genius whose name adorned it.
Guild has introduced the Guild Doyle Dykes Signature Model in honor of fingerstyle virtuoso Doyle Dykes. The guitar is the result of an extensive collaboration between Dykes, luthier Ren Ferguson and the team at Guild’s New Hartford, Connecticut, factory.

Montreal-based Godin Guitars has announced a new model, the Montreal Premiere. The guitar is a thinline, semi-hollow-body electric, the latest addition to the Signature Series. It features a Canadian wild cherry top, back and sides, with a spruce “breathe-through” carved core. This feature promotes free airflow through the interior center block, making the Montreal Premiere a resonant, vibrant guitar.
