Here’s a great quality clip of SRV performing “Pride and Joy” in January of 1990 during his MTV Unplugged taping. Vaughan uses a 12-string Guild, which gives the song a completely different vibe than the original, full band recording. “Pride and Joy” originally appeared on his 1983 Epic Records debut, Texas Flood.
Followers of Joe Bonamassa's Facebook page know the guitarist likes to shoot quick, spur-of-the-moment videos backstage at his shows. These videos usually show him playing rare, oddball or just plain insane stringed instruments. As evidenced below!
The guys (and girls?) at Candyrat Records have come up with another good one. Check out this new acoustic-guitar arrangement and performance of AC/DC's "Thunderstruck" by Italian guitarist Luca Stricagnoli.

I lost the hearing in my right ear suddenly and painlessly. As I sat on the couch at my mother's house, I got the sensation that water had dripped in my ear, but I could not shake it out. Vertigo followed. Then in the following days, sporadic stabbing violent pain, accompanied by aural hallucinations and electric shock sensations. I sensed it was something terrible, irreversible, but I wanted to believe the countless doctors who assured me that it was just a blockage that would rectify itself.

Here’s an intimate acoustic video of Jonny Polonsky’s “Lay Down Your Arms,” from his recent album The Other Side of Midnight. Gravel-voiced Polonsky pleads for detente and his nakedly acoustic performance is a fitting accompaniment. Written and performed entirely by Polonsky and mixed by longtime Lynch collaborator/engineer, Dean Hurley at David Lynch’s Asymmetrical Studios, Jonny Polonsky’s The Other Side of Midnight is 35 minutes of strange and beautiful, melodic, sci-fi bliss.
