It has now officially been announced that Iowa's heaviest export will indeed be headlining the main stage, with a stellar lineup in tow. Hitting the stage directly before Slipknot will be thrash titans Slayer, who will follow a special guest that will be announced on March 5.

The Pawn Stars guys couldn't believe their luck when the nephew of singer Mary Ford walked into their shop with a piece of history: a cream 1961 Gibson SG that was once owned by guitar innovator, and Ford's ex-husband, Les Paul.

Epiphone unveiled their new Dave Navarro Signature Acoustic/Electric guitar at last week's 2012 Winter NAMM show in Anaheim, California. Navarro visited the Epiphone booth on Friday meet fans and demo the new guitar, and you can check out some photos in the gallery below.
Guitar World visited the Ibanez booth at last week's Winter NAMM show to see two versions of their new Mick Thomson Signature model guitars. Slipknot are headlining the Mayhem Festival this summer, and Thomson will actually be using the black version of the guitar with the "Seven" inlay. It features a neck-through design and Seymour Duncan pickups. On the left in the video is a Blood Red budget version of the model.

The album, which will be released this spring, will feature music from Warren Haynes, Tom Morello, Debbie Harry, Jackson Browne, Yoko Ono, Third Eye Blind, Crosby & Nash and more. A few of the artists, including Joan Baez and Crosby & Nash, performed at the New York OWS site.
