Carvin Corp announces the formation of a new and separate company, Kiesel Guitars, which will take control of the guitar and bass manufacturing and sales of all Carvin and Kiesel brand instruments starting February 1. Kiesel Guitars owners Mark Kiesel and Jeff Kiesel formed the new company so they can focus exclusively on the advancement of instruments.
Carvin Guitars has introduced a new seven-string model, the TL70. The guitar, which you can check out in the photo gallery below, features 25.5-inch scale neck-thru construction and is available with a Hipshot-fixed bridge or Floyd Rose tremolo.
The NZ624 takes all the features of the company's popular CT624 24-fret California Carved Top guitar and adds many upgraded options as standard features, including Zaza's preferred single-volume control layout and signature truss rod cover.
Last month, Guitar World kicked off its first transcription challenge — and we picked a good song to set the tone for the monthly contest: Jason Becker's instrumental masterpiece, "Perpetual Burn." The song has been a perpetual source of inspiration (and challenge) for guitarists since it was released in 1988.
Here are some of the videos we've been sent by guitarists who have entered our "Perpetual Burn" Challenge. If you don't know about the challenge, which started early this month, you can find all the info you need right here.
