As expected, Van Halen used their intimate show at New York City's Cafe Wha?, a 250-seat venue, to confirm details of their upcoming new album.

Crowds of people held back by metal barricades and cops has become a common sight on the streets of Manhattan lately, but on Thursday night, January 5, the hordes were not protesting Wall Street but rather hoping for a chance to join the 200 or so journalists, record label execs, and celebrities crammed into Greenwich Village’s tiny Café Wha? where Van Halen performed a steamy, action-packed one-hour set.

Two videos have recently appeared online featuring Van Halen lead singer David Lee Roth having an interview-style conversation with Eddie Van Halen about the good 'ole days, including chats about Wet t-shirt contests and Ed's old Volvo. You can listen to the conversation in the clips below.

After a long wait and much speculation, Van Halen have officially confirmed that they will be on tour in 2012. A series of videos posted to their official website confirms as much, with "Van Halen on Tour 2012" and "First Tickets On Sale January 10" scrolling across the bottom of each (you can check out one of the trailers below.)
