Considering that my favorite female guitarist has toured with Muriel Anderson and did at least one "Guitar Goddesses" show with Leni Stern, I'm surprised you left her out - Mimi Fox. Just an unbelievably talented jazz guitarist, chops to spare but with interesting ideas to her compositions and solos. Can't recommend her enough, I must average 3 shows every two years. Mostly plays the Bay Area, but look for her in your area if you are lucky. Her CDs are quite good, and very positively reviewed.

While most people already know about Emily Saliers, and I gather this list is to introduce people to new acts. It is hard to speak about female guitarist and not mention Emily, she is an extremely talented guitarist and all around musical talent. So, I did it for you. Personally I thought everyone on this list was interesting, however I found the "bee keeper" girl's picture with "i am as blue as blood" came across like she was trying too hard or something. Whatever she was aiming for it, it did not work. Her music sounded pretty good, she needs to take notes on the career of a female rock legend like Chrissie Hynde or Steve Nicks, they always came across as having "it" already. They never seemed to be striving for attention, leave that to less talented acts. And you could add Emily Sailers and Nancy Wilson to that list as well.

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't feel that this is just about new artists. There are loads of amazing players who have been around the block a few times that are worth sharing too. I'll check out Emily Sailers!

You might have included Allison Robertson (The Donnas), she is a great rhythm player and Sue Foley is a great blues player. Thanks for mentioning Debbie Davis.
