Queensrÿche have posted a new music video for “Fallout,” the first single from their new, self-titled album. The video was filmed in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, during the annual Rock Hard Festival in May. It features footage from the band’s set, plus some behind-the-scenes shots.
Ritchie Blackmore's current band — Blackmore's Night — have released a new music video for the title track from their latest album, Dancer and the Moon. The album was released June 11 by Frontiers Records.
Former Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman has recorded a series of 65 guitar loops that can be used by producers and disc jockeys for various projects. Friedman's loops, which range from high-gain leads and rhythm parts to clean-tone melodies influenced by Japanese and Middle Eastern scales, are available now as a loop library called "Exotic Guitar."
At their June 23 Hellfest show in Clisson, France, Canada's Voivod were joined by a pair of special guests. In the 12-minute video below, you'll see former Pantera frontman Philip Anselmo join the band for a cover of Pink Floyd's "Astronomy Domine," one of the highlights of Floyd's early Syd Barrett era. Then, at around the 7:06 mark, Voivod are joined by their former bassist, Jason Newsted, for "Voivod."
