The brainchild of Jane’s Addiction’s Perry Farrell took over the Windy City last Friday through Sunday, every day drawing more than 90,000 fans, who came in droves to see headlining sets from Foo Fighters, Coldplay and My Morning Jacket and performances by more than 100 other artists.
On August 14, the Iridium Jazz Club in New York will air a never-before-broadcast Les Paul memorial show on their Livestream channel. The concert, which was filmed in 2009 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, features Zakk Wylde, Charlie Daniels, Steve Miller and more. Only a year passed between the debut and sophomore albums for Costa Mesa, California-based metalcore outfit Of Mice And Men, but what an eventful year it was. The band lost founders Austin Carlile (vocals) and Jaxin Hall (bass) after 2010's self-titled effort, only to regain Carlile before recording their latest album, who brought along with him guitarist Alan Ashby.
Arguably the most successful of the four main grunge bands from the early ‘90s, Pearl Jam is still one of today's more successful rock bands. The band was founded by bassist Jeff Ament and guitarist Stone Gossard, both of whom were in the bands Green River and Mother Love Bone.
"The Devil You Know" is the first official single from the highly-anticipated new album from Anthrax, Worship Music, which is due out on September 13 via Megaforce/MRI. The album was produced by Jay Ruston along with Rob Caggiano.
