Three decades into a remarkably successful career, guitarist Phil Collen looks at each day as a new beginning. Best known for his work with rock band Def Leppard, Collen is also involved with a gritty blues-rock trio, Manraze, where he is joined by Paul Cook and Simon Laffy. Their latest EP, I Surrender, was released late last year. His newest project is a blues duo, Delta Deep, with vocalist Debbi Blackwell-Cook. They’re at work on an album. He is also writing his autobiography.

Some players (myself included) even get bent out of shape when they're asked to provide the simplest of vocal harmonies while playing basic to semi-challenging riffs.
When Guitar World catches up with Harlot guitarist Jeff George, it’s early in the morning in Los Angeles. Or, perhaps in George’s mind, still late at night. “I haven’t been to bed yet,” he says with a laugh. “I got in from the studio around 7 in the morning and I was like, ‘I could go to sleep for a few hours, but then when I wake up will I just be super weird?’ So I decided to just power through. I’m on cup of coffee No. 90.”
