Well, I think that I have reached that point in my playing that im sick of just learning other peoples stuff (not that Im against it, i love learning my fav songs, who doesnt, eh?), but im getting into making my own stuff.

My question is, how do you even begin that?
I know it sounds like such an elementary question ( for those of you that dont get that, a noob question haha), but I mean, does it just come to you, or do you let what goes in with you inspire it, and when it does, where do you begin?
Ive been playing for a little over a year now.

For example, ive been in a few bands before, but we never reach that part where we actually start playing for people. Im all for it, but when it comes to sitting down and writing the music, we just lose interest and end up goofing off. How would you go about writing your own stuff?

Oh, and anyone else that has been successful, feel free to comment.
