You assumed right. From what I know about them, they are becoming quite difficult to find and are sure to become a collector's item within a few years, make sure you hang on to it!

Strange man, from what you've mentioned everything looks stacked in your favor to getting good pinch harmonics. I'd say try to dial in some mids from the amp's eq, try a compression pedal and then crank 'er up! If you can't get them - analizing your technique might be the best thing to do.
