we still have rock and metal--- just not completely gay posers hopping around and prancing about on stage in tight pants and big hair and tons of make up

I actually like the 80's "Hair Metal" bands, the outfits were understandable...for the times....but I never really got the deal with the ladies makeup (it's kinda hard to look tough & evil...when you look like an old hooker  :? )...WTF was with that?

How about you don't worry about the look, and worry more about the music?

It was a sign of the times, much like wearing those silly looking triangular hats was a sign of the times in the late 1700's. You know, like the Paul Revere hat or whatever, the triangle ones. Silly looking. But that's what they wore. As far as wearing makeup, haven't you ever seen 'Rock Star'? The scene where he's fixing the copier, and the office guy was looking at him strangely and finally says, "Is...is that makeup?" (eyeshadow that didn't wash all the way off), to which Chris replies, as if he'd just asked a really stupid question, "I'm in a band!". And then it was okay, it was accepted.

Vs are my favorite body style. So comfortable either standing or sitting.

As long as the jack/strap lock isnt in a bad spot putting your thigh in the between the V when playing is really great. When I practice I rest it on my leg and move it around by adjusting my leg position. If find it much more natural than a "normal body" where I only am comfortable sitting while is rests slung between my legs and sometimes it just feels akward.

Not really. There plenty of great songs and bands from the 80's hair metal era.

lol- most of it was yes.
there were a few bands that were "hair metal-ish" that had good music- like whitesnake i still like and malice- an unpopular metal band. but most of it really was crap lol.
i dont care for any of the modern incarnations of it either.

 I'm just messin' with you. I'm sure there's got to be a diamond or two in the rough from one of those Hair Metal bands. Of course, that diamond in the rough isn't going to be by Motley Crue. I freaking hate them.

Sure, there's Slayer, Carcass, Obituary, Death... I can go on. But when we are talking hair metal or glam rock it's pretty bad. Owning the CD's is like that embarrassing cousin, "oh... him? yeah um, we're not related... I mean we are but we aren't umm.. it's a long story"

Man, I read 'The Dirt', and even before that, I had a lot of respect for Mick because I knew he had some sort of bone disorder. After reading the book and realizing what he's been going through for most of his life with that bone disease, I HAVE GOT to respect the man for continuing to play and never giving up. Is he the best player out there? No, but MAN that guy's got a lot of heart to keep doing what he's been doing for so long, through the pain and discomfort and everything. A lot of guys would have probably given up midway through the Theater of Pain tour!!
