The Guitar World gang visited the PRS Guitars booth at the 2014 Winter NAMM Show in Anaheim, California. Below, check out our video, which shows off the looks and sound of PRS Guitars' new S2 Custom 22 model, which is part of the company's recently expanded S2 Series.
Remember the first time you thought, “That sounds like a Telecaster”? Those moments represent precious development of your musical ear. Upon acquiring my first octave pedal, I began to hear the effect all over songs I’d listened to many times before; Jimmy Page’s solo on “Fool in the Rain," Metallica’s remake of “Whiskey in the Jar" — and how about Jimi Hendrix’s fuzzy octave-up effect on "Purple Haze"?
Jim Dunlop has introduced its new MXR Custom Shop La Machine pedal. The pedal serves up thick, shaggy retro fuzz that’s tailor made to drive the raw sounds of ’70s-style hard rock and modern garage rock.
Rivera has quickly become a major player and warmed up the the jazz amp world with it’s all-tube 50-watt Jazz Suprema 1x12 and 1x15. Some archtop players had to settle on solid state amps in the past for there portability and light weight.
Well-suited for personal practice or bedroom jamming along with a CD or MP3 player, they’re available in 10-, 20- and 40-watt configurations. Additional features include Six onboard voices, effects and INSIDER GUI software for creating, storing and sharing patches.
