“Creating this new guitar is continuing Jimi’s practice of giving back to people. He would go to Manny’s Music store in New York to make himself available to young musicians and invite them to his studio to watch him record. He also gave away guitars or bought them for young players,” said Janie Hendrix, Jimi’s sister and CEO of Authentic Hendrix. “It was our own idea to approach Gibson in the beginning after the positive experiences we’d had with the Flying V’s that they made based on Jimi’s guitar some years back. Our excitement inspired their excitement, and here we are, creating these new branded musical instruments. This is just the tip of the iceberg.”

Are you kidding me !!! is this a joke ??? How could Gibson be so ignorant of basic right and wrong... regardless of their leagalistic rationalization, it is all initiated by self righteous law stranglers whose self advancement contimues at the expense of others. Gibson once again sinks to new lows in a public display of poor judgement, ethics and respectability.

I can't immagine anybody would buy this guitar. The person who came up with the idea should be fired. Gibson should be ashamed! Do you not make enough money on your other instruments? What do you think Jimi would think of this guitar? This is not a tribute. Just another way for his family to make a buck off his name. Almost forty years after his death he's still getting ripped off. Poor Jimi!

Gibson sinks to a new low. What a cheezy Strat rip off. The Hendrix family should have their heads examined. Anyone buying one of these is going to get laughed off of the stage. Its hard to imagine a bunch of people in a board room saying 'yeah' to this. I have to wonder what is next, Les Paul Standards sourced from Asia?

These are being made by Gibson? The very same company that tries to sue other manufacturers like PRS and Ibanez yet they can make a Strat? This is Blasphemy. The saddest part is that Hendrix's sister signed off on the deal. Does she even know what kind of guitar he played? I know he played a Flying V but Gibson already beat that horse. Judging from the retail prices of these they will be nothing but JUNK. I guess "Authentic Hendrix" really isn't authentic after all. What a joke. Jimi has to be rolling in his grave.

How can Gibson get away with such an obvious Strat knockoff? This is not a "new guitar" - it's a Strat with a modified headstock and Experience Hendrix logos on it (and with a flipped bridge pickup angle). And to think Gibson had the ego and audacity to sue PRS because they were concerned that consumers would confuse the PRS SC for a Les Paul. I'll bet Fender's attorneys are foaming at the mouth in anticipation.
