Solos with a slide intro as the Jake E Lee pulls out on Waiting for Darkness does the same for me. The slide is used by Mick Mars quiet often. It does its job. The slide should be kept in the recording part of guitar solos. Unless you’re from Foghat, Dime sound seems more developed and his guitar fretboard work is always loud and clear. Dime to me became the next level of guitarist right after Zack. He seemed more polished than Zack also. There is a void in the fretboard of guitarist. I haven't seen or heard of the next young wizard. I am hoping its John5.

In all seriousness this poll is just a pop poll, meaning in each circle of the genre they're pretty much the most popular songs.. I mean where's the father of Jazz/rock fusion Mr Larry Coryell himself...Peter Green 'The supernatural'... beats fucking hotel california or Layla, OBSCURE lmao!!

Arghhhh. This is the type of match up you want to see but don't want to vote on. I love both of these players and are/were the best live players I have ever seen.

I actually do not like the song Floods, but the solo on it is awesome. Dime does all of the stuff that made him what he is. But its a little tarnished by the fact that I don't think overall its a good piece.

No More Tears' solo is completely fluid. It lacks Zach's signature pinch harmonic, but it is perfect for the song. I have to go with this one.

This one was the closest yet, for me.
Both of these guys can shred, although these are definitely NOT the best examples of their talents.
I guess what tipped it, for me, was that No More Tears is a song I'd have on a playlist, where I felt I hard to force myself to listen to all of Floods to get to the solo.
