Guitar Chalk Sessions: Methods for Targeting Problem Areas in Your Guitar Solos

This is a wonderful article. I isolate problem areas like the way you've mentioned for a while. I create a file in Guitar Pro and use the speed trainer function. Starting out slow and gradually building up speed. We need more articles like this. Great Job.

I *am* a lead player with a heavy Satriani influence. I~ve also been teaching for 18 years, and to say the least, it was awesomely refreshing to see this column! So many of my students want to play all the techie, hard stuff and get frustrated when they get in over their head. I have to wrestle them back to basics before they see that the simplest drills and exercises can make a HUGE difference.
