Guitar World was saddened to learn of the recent passing of Jeff Healey, the Grammy-nominated guitarist who had been sightless since the age of 1 and scored a hit in 1988 with the soulful “Angel Eyes.” The 41-year-old Canadian guitarist also appeared in the 1989 Patrick Swayze film Roadhouse as Cody, a blind musician. Healey’s final record, Mess of Blues, is due out on April 22. Healey died of cancer on March 2 at St. Joseph’s Health Centre in his hometown of Toronto. Guitar World pays tribute to the fallen great with this complete reprint of his September 1990 cover story.
