Kenny Wayne Shepherd has released the electronic press kit (also known as a video) in advance of his new studio album, Goin' Home, which will be released May 19 via Concord Records. You can check it out below.
"This is a homecoming in more ways than one," Shepherd says of the album, which will be the debut release of the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band. "I felt like I was retracing my steps and reliving all the good times that I've had in my life because of this music. And hopefully, that amount of happiness comes through on the album."
The eighth edition of the Experience Hendrix Tour will launch in March 2014. The month-long tour, which is presented by BandFuse: Rock Legends, will bring together a diverse group of artists paying homage to the genius of Jimi Hendrix.
Fender and Kenny Wayne Shepherd have been working together since the blues artist was a 17-year-old phenom and heir apparent to the SRV throne. Since then, Shepherd has established himself as both a singular contemporary blues guitarist and a master of the genre’s established forms and tones. His signature Fender Strat is made of the same stuff, combining modern components with features inspired by some of Shepherd’s favorite vintage Strats. The result is a powerhouse blues guitar at a wallet-friendly price.
Guitarists who improvise in any style-rock, blues, country, bluegrass, jazz, metal-have to have an arsenal of hot licks to draw upon. Little tricks which, played at just the right moment, can elevate the music to another level and blast an audience right out of their seats. All of my favorite players have their own signature licks that kill me every time I hear them. This is what inspired me to take up the guitar in the first place.
