MusicRadar's Joe Bosso recently caught up with producer Bob Rock to talk about the 20th anniversary of Metallica's classic self-titled album, better know as the "Black Album." The producer reflected on the making of the album song-by-song, but said of the whole album, "It wasn’t a fun, easy record to make."
Metallica have officially announced their plans for a string of shows celebrating their 30th anniversary. The metal legends have announced that they will be playing four shows at the historic Fillmore in San Francisco on December 5, 7, 9, and 10 as part of a week-long celebration in the Bay Area.
GibsonGuitar.in has posted a new interview with Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett about Metallica's upcoming show in India. During the interview, Hammett discussed the possibility of new material from Metallica in the near future.
“I was still using my black Flying V on Ride the Lightning, but ‘Fade to Black’ sounds different—it has a warmer sound—because I used the neck pickup and played through a wah-wah pedal all the way in the ‘up’ position,” says Kirk Hammett.
