Been playing guitar and writing music for many years and have always wondered exactly what 3rd/5th/7th/etc...were. Have read many books and they always made it sound so complicated. Thanks for making it soooo simple. This will change everything. Horns up!!!

Possibly dumb question: Do the harmonies follow the scale of the original line (E natural minor) or is it direct 3rds?

The harmonies follow the original line. Otherwise, the notes would sound out of key. If your original line is in E Minor, any harmony note would also have to fit, or, in other words - use notes from the E Minor scale.

Hope that helps. Horns back and thanks!
