MusicRadar's Joe Bosso recently caught up with producer Bob Rock to talk about the 20th anniversary of Metallica's classic self-titled album, better know as the "Black Album." The producer reflected on the making of the album song-by-song, but said of the whole album, "It wasn’t a fun, easy record to make."
Metallica have officially announced their plans for a string of shows celebrating their 30th anniversary. The metal legends have announced that they will be playing four shows at the historic Fillmore in San Francisco on December 5, 7, 9, and 10 as part of a week-long celebration in the Bay Area.
Metallica have posted video of the now-customary "Big Four Jam" from the Sonisphere festival in Knebworth, UK. Metallica were joined on stage by members of Slayer, Anthrax, Megadeth and Diamond Head for a rendition of Diamond Head's classic cut, "Am I Evil?"
As has become custom, at last night's Big Four show at Fiera Open Air Arena in Milan, Italy, Metallica invited members of Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax onstage for the now-expected "Big Four jam." Fans expecting the bands to jam on the Diamond Head classic "Am I Evil?" were in for a surprise, however, as the bands instead played the Misfits classic "Die, Die My Darling."
Professional-quality footage from Metallica's set at the Gotherburg Big Four Show on July 3 has surfaced online. You can check out footage from the band's entire set below, courtesy of Sweden's SVT1 Direkt.
