In conjunction with the MusiCares charity, Metallica are offering special bracelets made from the guitar/bass strings of James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo. Proceeds from the sale of the bracelets will go toward the MusiCares charity.
Metallica have announced the release of their Beyond Magnetic EP as a limited-edition silver vinyl pressing exclusively for Record Store Day. The EP -- which features four previously unreleased tracks from the Death Magnetic sessions -- has already seen a digital and CD release.
"I'm just hoping that whatever is in the White House next year is a Republican," said Megadeth mainman Dave Mustaine in a recent interview. "I can't bear to watch what's happened to our great country. Everybody's got their head in the sand. Everybody in the industry is like, 'Oh, Obama's doing such a great job...' I don't think so. Apparently, Hulk Hogan almost joined an early version of Metallica. The former WWWF champion wrestler, who stars in his own reality TV show, Hogan Knows Best, told The Sun in England that he and Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich were tight during Hogan's days as a session musician.
According to a new interview with Rolling Stone, Metallica are currently seven to eight songs into the writing for their new album, and are aiming for shorter, more concise songs than the ones featured on 2008's Death Magnetic.
