There's no doubt MAB has some serious chops. He's been around for a long time! I saw him years ago when he just went by the name Michael Angelo. The only thing that turned me off of him then and now is his reliance (same for the whole band) on cheesy "Spinal Tap-ish" moves and gimmicks i.e. the double necked guitar, the over the top of the neck moves, just the whole I'm locked in the 80's look and studied all the video cliches of the time on MTV.

I'd say to MAB look you're like 50 something, cut the hair, don't cling to an image from 30 years ago and get out there and shred. Be understated in your appearance and let your guitar chops do the talking.

A friend from Chicago, Peace!

Haha! MAB's Double-Guitar was put in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame a few years ago. So much for his on stage persona! To read some of this crap is to know why Guitar World stopped their message board. Stupid comments made by people who just talk trash. I'm sure Jeff Beck, KISS and Aerosmith should take your image advise to. I mean you're an expert right? MAB rules. This song is awesome!

Well, for the most part I like this. Songs featuring shred guitar usually are lacking a good rhythm groove. This song has a great rhythm going throughout. I'm quite impressed with the drummer and bass player. Great job by them.
My only complaint is this song is a bit too long.
Yeah...I'd listen to this on my ipod at the gym because the rhythm swings.....and it rocks.
Like Angus & Malcom Young say: If it don't swing
It don't mean a thing

To oneunder - you're an idiot. To say this song has no melody is insane. You couldn't have listened to it to say that. The intro riff is really catchy and the main melody is slow and hypnotic.

I'm entitled to my own opinion. The song sucks. The guitar tone sucks. There is nothing catchy about the intro. I listen to a wide variety of music, but I really don't care for this. That doesn't make me an idiot. I'll take anything by Joe Satriani over this. He knows how to write awesome music.

Excellent, technically, but really lacking melodically. Just a bunch of notes with no musical direction. I wouldn't buy this.

Its getting to the point where one of these geetarist heads is gonna explode lol. Shredding back in my day was RacerX,Marty Friedman,Jason Becker ect... Sometimes I have too laugh at how spastic the playing has become. I was a fan of more melodic music

MAB rocks those strings, man!

One thing that I notice about his light-speed picking style is that he keeps his fingers anchored to the guitar's pickguard (4:14) . Some players will tell you that you can't build any speed that way, but I'd like to see them play a quarter as fast as he does.

The guy's a monster. But that stupid wig's gotta go! :)

The Shred King ...

This is awesome! Shred for the sake of shred. If you're going to do it -- do it right MAB style!
