Really, is all the language necessary? You take away from your point and make yourself look dumb. Sure, Green Day isn't my favorite band, but that doesn't mean you have to be so mean about it. I'm also kinda dissapointed in all the metal in Guitar World. Sure, metal is a great genre, but there is more out there. Guitar World should be more diverse and include metal, alternative, classic rock, acoustic, country, maybe even stuff like reggae and jazz. Also, the tunings can get annoying. I like funky tunings as much as the next guy, but when you're on stage and you don't have a billion guitars, you can't just tune in front of a crowd. So that can make it hard to play certain songs. I think you all need to grow up and realize that the world is diverse, and you should be, too. Even though you may not like more popular songs, I would find it better if they gave us tabs that more people knew. I'd much rather play songs people knew than songs that I didn't write that no one knows.

It's obvious that Green Day can sure generate some hatred.. I personally think that it's well deserved.. How dare they still try to call themselves punk when us old-schoolers know that they are anything but.. Cro-mags, Dead Kennedy's, Black Flag, The Exploited, Circle Jerks, old Suicidal Tendencies.... That is punk. Anything as poppy as the shit they write could never be considered punk.. And btw, there is nothing revolutionary about his playing style... Yuck!! Reminds me of the time when someone tried to say that fucking Kurt Cobain was a good guitarist.. But, in the end I have to have guitar world's back because you have to cater to the shit-heads who like that poppy ass crap as well as us true rockers..Must take the good with the bad fellas..

Yeah, Green Day is definitely emo you dumb fuck. They have sold more albums than any band you listen to could ever dream of doing. They deserve to be featured in this magazine just as much as anyone else does.

I dont agree with carodon cause green day sucks,but I do agree with Stoneslingerwhy is MASTODON not on the cover with an in depth on Brent Hinds!? Best band period - hands down... who is a more influential, diverse player than Brent right NOW? This is Guitar World - correct?

The amount of maturity in the comments her is just stellar. Revolutionary, even. The only productive and mature response I can think of to someone not liking Green Day is to tell those "haters" to "fuck off" and oh, hell, I don't know, something about that person guzzling cum or something.
Honestly, this is ridiculous. I personally don't really like Green Day, but I have nothing against people that do. So what if Billie Joe Whatever is on the cover? That doesn't mean the whole issue will revolve around him and his revolutionary power chord usage. I'm sure there will be plenty of solid material in the issue--like the transcription of "Spoonman". This pleases me.

the only reason that they sell so many records is because they shove them so far up the average person's dickhole that they feel forced to buy one. I remember buying Dookie just so I would stop getting annoyed with the SHIT that is punk rock

Fuck Green Day and fuck all those who are bitching about not having enough old classicl rock shit in the mag. For years and years there have been too much old shit in the mag and I think that it's about time for move ahead. Why Mastodon and not the true greatest band in the land right now: Opeth.. These guys are geniuses and their music is very diverse and unique and challenging.. All the things for old rockers, shredders and metalheads rolled into one.. And hell Mastodon too.. Anybody but some old-ass irrevelent dude that hasn't done an album worth listening to since 76!! I'm 35 not 15 and I still think this way.. Long live Guitar World!!!!

Green Day owns. just one of the last bands keeping it real. Dident sellout to wal-mart cuz of content refused to make a censored album, but "thta anti- government' sellsout to wal-mart. FUCK THAT!!! Green Day is the shit. Sure Billie Joe isent the fastest guitarist, but he can make a great groove with his guitar. Green day is simply a band who keeps it real, Wal- mart wouldent take thier new album cuz of the content, so they dident sell to wal mart, and still debuted at number one. Those "anti-government metal bands" censor their albums so they can get more money. FUCK THAT!! besides Green day is a band full of great talent. Congrats Green day. oh and fuck off haters.

Isn't this a magazine for Guitarists?

I know lots of people who like Green Day, U2, Allman Brothers, Hendrix, B.B. King, Metallica...the entire spectrum. I know I do.

They all have guitarists in their band with a faithful following of guitarists.

When did the Guitar community become encompassed in "People Magazine" dramaqueen beeyotches?

Every GW issue has a variety of styles, tips, artists.....consider yourself lucky to have such an awesome guitar magazine that keeps from getting stale.

I love this magazine precisely because it exposes me to many different styles without any of the shallow drama of RS ect.

Broaden your horizons or STFU.

Why hasn't Mastodon been on a cover yet. GD is alright, but I wouldn't consider anything they play hard. In fact, beginner level at best. Are they even considered PUNK anymore. Pop-Punk, Radio-Punk, whatever. Answer this; Do you have the time to listen to me whine, I think not.

I hate Green Day with a passion, but I just bypass that to get to the good stuff. Good riddance to the guy going to Guitar Player. I wish Guitar World would do an annual stand alone all metal issue. The classics are great and all, but I don't know how many times I can see Zep or Hendrix. I know all there is to know about them by now.
