A few years ago, the editors of Guitar World magazine compiled what we feel is the ultimate guide to the 100 Greatest Guitar Solos of All Time. The list, which has been quoted by countless artists, websites and publications around the world, starts with Richie Sambora's work on Bon Jovi's “Wanted Dead or Alive” (100) and builds to a truly epic finish with Jimmy Page's solo on "Stairway to Heaven" (01).

Today, GuitarWorld.com presents the exclusive premiere of a new video by the Sheepdogs. It features a new acoustic version of “I Don’t Get By,” a track from their 2010 album, Learn and Burn. Allen Lanier, a founding member of Blue Oyster Cult, has died at 67 after being hospitalized with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, according to the band’s Facebook page. “DFTR sweet man,” reads the post — an obvious reference to the band's biggest hit, "Don’t Fear the Reaper." “We love you and miss you.”
Today, GuitarWorld.com presents the exclusive premiere of Whitechapel's new lyric video for "Vicer Exciser." The song is from the new re-issue of The Somatic Defilement. As a bonus, Whitechapel are also giving you the chance to win a new ESP guitar signed by the entire band!

“I gotta admit, today is a little nerve racking,” Zacky Vengeance says, speaking to Guitar World on a hot July afternoon in Los Angeles. The guitarist is preparing to head to rehearsal with his bandmates in Avenged Sevenfold, something he has done hundreds of times over their 14 years together. It wouldn’t be cause for anxiety except that, this time, things are a little different. According to Vengeance, Avenged haven’t performed live in more than a year, the longest such stretch of their career.
