Noel Gallagher Says Foo Fighters, Green Day Should Play Oasis Songs
Related Content
In a recent Q&A with RollingStone.com, Noel Gallagher said he thought other bands could benefit from playing his music.
He was asked to justify his decision to play Oasis songs during his solo shows, and responded: "I've always thought most bands should play Oasis songs, anyway. The Foo Fighters should definitely do a couple. Green Day could do even more than one or two. Radiohead? I mean, let's face it. It'd be a better night out."
Gallagher will release his first official solo album, High Flying Birds, on October 17.
Both Noel and his brother Liam have always been known as two of the more entertaining insult artists in the music world. Click here for our gallery of the best of Noel and Liam insulting each other, and tell us who you think is better!

There's at least a half dozen bands in every high school across America that write way better songs than Oasis...

I love Oasis.
But saying the Gallagher brothers are bloated, delusional and self-absorbed Rock Stars is redundant.
They're all bloated, delusional and self-absorbed.
"Rock and Roll can save the World"?
Um, irrigation maybe. I'd accept Penicillin as an answer.
Rock Stars, hell famous people in general, go crazy from the fame (heat).
Noel Gallagher, David Lee Roth, Axl Rose, Roger Waters, Keith Richards and Mick Jagger...didn't John Lennon make the crack that the Beatles were bigger than Jesus?
The soap opera doesn't bother me - I just pass it by to the tune of "Honky Tonk Woman", "Panama", "Sweet Child of Mine", "A Day in the Life", "Hey You" and "Don't Look Back in Anger (Oasis)".
It's all good.

The only time Oasis gets any press is for their delusional Comments, not for their music.I feel a lot of their songs we're beatles rip offs anyway and even their big hits we're nothing special & very forgetable.I haven't heard anything from them in a least ten years, except for all this nonsence between the brothers. Face it,their not even relivent anymore.Bands like Green Day & Foo Fighters have had recient huge albums(foo fighters new record is really good)and are at the height of their popularity.I don't think they need any help from Oasis.

The only ones that should be doing covers is Oasis and they can begin with Bon Jovi's "Livin on a Prayer"

If you can't name a memorable song by Oasis, you're lying, plain and simple. Green Day is becoming old and stale (nothing quite as mall-punk as Broadway, right?), and Foo Fighters have only temporarily staved off their slide with their most recent album.
Noel gets ink because he is a very good songwriter and consistently says something brash and boastful. That said, every band can learn from playing covers of other bands' material. Think about it, the Foos covered an Ace Frehley song, for crissakes. Not a Kiss-era song either.

I've seen Dave Grohl with The Foo Fighters four (4) times, and I've seen him ridicule/humiliate/throw-out obnoxious-hecklers. So if I were Noel Gallagher, I WOULD NOT want to get into an on-going "pee-fest" with Dave Grohl - LOL! Dave can be BRUTAL, and he's very funny and entertaining all-the-while!
BTW frezfram, I agree that Oasis was/is SO overrated! They (Noel) have/has written and produced some of the most derivative, un-original, and boring music I've ever heard, and his brother is an immature "whiny-ass b*tch" if you ask me! Just sayin...

What do you expect from a guy that thinks his band was better and bigger than the Beatles. "Hey Gallagher, which Oasis album was your Sgt Pepper? I can't remember the name of it or a single song off of it."
Hmmm...Lets see...for record sales globally, I remember seeing names like Beatles, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Rush, Elvis Presley, Pink Floyd, Elton John, Ozzy Osbourne, ect, ect. I don't remember Oasis on that list at all... Why is that?
Come to think of it, I can't name a memorable, single song by Oasis.
Why this guy gets press is beyond me. Maybe one of the Kardashian sisters plays guitar. What about the guitar skills of Paris Hilton and Lindsey Lohan? Who's gonna be on the next cover? Brooke Hogan??
