Poll: What Was the Best Guitar Album of 1990?
You remember 1990. Billy Idol's motorcycle crashed. Milli Vanilli got busted. ABC premiered Cop Rock, the first (and last) police-themed musical series, and one of the worst shows ever aired on television.
From this perspective, musically, the year looks grim. Not necessarily, however. The barrage of shred-heavy LPs had waned, but there were lots of great rock and metal albums released in 1990. Most will always remember the eighties as the hey-day of electric guitar prominence, but the nineties had several gems to offer, especially in the earlier half.
Check out the ones we've listed below and let us know what your favorite is. Don't see you're favorite? Comment and let us know what you would have gone with. We can't always get them on the list, but your voice will be heard!
Happy voting!

You know nothing!! Pantera is untouchable and Dime was a legend long before he died....Maybe punks like you didnt know his greatness but true metalhead fans like me did. Dimebag and Randy Rhoads are on a level of their own and thats that!!

Most definitely,'Facelift'.The textures,the feel of Cantrell's throbbing guitar,solid riffage & the solo in the 'Man in the Box' explain everything.It should be like this:
#1-Facelift(AIC),#2-Spiritual Healing(Death)/Passion & Warfare(Steve Vai),#3-Painkiller(Judas Priest),#4-Rust in Peace(Megadeth),#5-CFH(PanterA)

Alice In Chains, Jerry Cantrell more specifically, never gets enough credit for their skills. Facelift is an amazing album - I don't see how Megadeth even comes close.

Here are some albums that should have been mentioned:
* Exodus - Impact Is Imminent
* Suicidal Tendencies - Lights...Camera...Revolution!
* Jane's Addiction - Ritual de lo Habitual
* Obituary - Cause of Death
* Living Colour - Time's Up
* Primus - Frizzle Fry
* Napalm Death - Harmony Corruption
* Frank Gambale - Thunder from Down Under (some sources say this album was released in 1989, but it was actually released in 1990 - by the time Frank released this album, he was one of the acclaimed guitarists of all time)
* Forbidden - Twisted Into Form
* Death Angel - Act III
* Artillery - By Inheritance
* Prong - Beg to Differ
* Pixies - Bossanova
* Fugazi - Repeater
* Scatterbrain - Here Comes Trouble (I know many people have never heard of Scatterbrain but to me Here Comes Trouble is one of the best albums of 1990, gotta love the track "Don't Call Me Dude")
* 24-7 Spyz - Gumbo Millenium (my complaint about this album is similar to Scatterbrain)I'm not asking you guys to list all these albums, but I'd love to see some of them on the list.
