Five finger death punch! they manage to borrow and recycle every riff AND chorus while crying about how hard being famous (and on the road and divorced and never enough) is and still being hailed as original tough guy music.
seriously, though, every metal band from bullet for my valentine to in flames has copped Iron Maiden's style and to this day Maiden is still rocking

RUSH was my vote but . . .

ALL those on that list are representative of what the Rock 'n Rol Hall of Sham NEED to make it "Rock 'n Roll".
A VERY close 2nd, Deep Purple

I agree about:
Ten Years After
King Crimson
SLAYER
U.F.O.
Bad Company
The Dead Kennedys (and MANY other American Punk bands)
Heart

And . . .
Rainbow
Kansas
Triumph
Fates Warning
Dream Theater

Both prog and metal are looked upon as red-headed stepchildren by the gatekeepers of the RRHoF. So far the only prog bands inducted are Pink Floyd and Genesis (and Genesis more for their later commercial crap than for songs like "Cinema Show") and the only metal acts are Black Sabbath and Metallica.

All of the acts listed above belong in the RRHoF as far as I'm concerned.

That's a damn good question CJ. And Thin Lizzy too...

How the hell are the Beastie Boys and Red Hot Chili Peppers being inducted but Boston, Rush, STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN, and Deep Purple haven't??
