Hey Ron - great post as always. Lots of good info. I also heard that getting the amp cabinet off the floor can really make a difference when you mic it. What's that all about?

Hey Togo!
Getting the cab off the floor and in a corner does several things. 1st of all it decouples the cab from the floor thus eliminating frequencies resonating through the floor. The same concept as a drum riser. The sound becomes tighter and purer. Putting it in a corner brings out a desirable low end thump. Great for Metal/Rock.
