While Axl was nowhere to be found (neither was Izzy for that matter), the remaining original members of Guns N' Roses didn't let that stop them from getting up on stage after their acceptance speeches at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this past Saturday night and giving fans what they wanted.
Slash is a sponge that has soaked up all of the most intoxicating ingredients of all of the best guitar music since the dawn of the electric-guitar-based rock and roll and wrung out a grimy, adventurous and uniquely tasty concoction that never ceases to inspire.
If you've been following the saga of Guns N' Roses even loosely over the last couple of decades or so, then you know that almost all of the bad blood that still exists between the band's original members is almost all squarely between Slash and Axl Rose.
In this whole Guns N' Roses saga, original drummer Steven Adler has always seemed to be the optimistic, excitable one in the band who just wishes everyone could get along and play those original Appetite-era songs the way they were meant to be played.
