Drummer Dave Lombardo has been fired from Slayer — at least the band's upcoming tour of Australia. Lombardo, who has enjoyed three stints behind the Slayer skins — 1981 to '86; '87 to '92 and '02 till just recently — posted a memo on his Facebook page last night to share the news that he was being replaced for the tour.
"There are so many different fuckers up here jamming, it could be a clusterfuck," says a very sweaty Philip Anselmo, pointing at the audience in an accusatory fashion after he and a pantheon of metal giants finish playing a hyper-charged rendition of Pantera's "Mouth for War" at the Metal Masters concert in New York this past Friday night, September 7.
Armand Crump, Slayer’s longtime guitar tech, died yesterday, March 31. The cause of death has not yet been revealed. He leaves behind his girlfriend, Cassandra Dines, plus several family members and friends.
