It's always interesting what fate,ego,and a little pressure can do.Not to mention the recording techniques of the time,and a jumbo helping of having fun while doing it....Just makes ya wonder what it would have sounded like if Clapton never did it.

It's certainly stood the test of time. Probably considered by most to be far and away the greatest song on the White Album. Helter Skelter is a great rocker. Birthday, USSR, good little rockers. There's some other good songs. I'm So Tired, Yer Blues, classic Lennon. And then you got Do It In The Road, Piggies, Rocky Racoon, number9,number9.... Yeah, Gently Weeps is easily the best.
