I'm relatively new to touring overseas, but, in the past few years, I've learned a lot about building a guitar rig that is going to work in any scenario imaginable. That’s the main motive for me when it comes to designing a rig: the ability to integrate and adapt to any situation. You know the feeling when you get on stage and your gear doesn’t cooperate; you have to scramble to come up with a makeshift solution just to get through the night.
If you're a fan of mind-blowing metal guitar, you need to be excited about the recently announced summer tour featuring The Contortionist, Jeff Loomis, 7 Horns 7 Eyes, and Chimp Spanner, who will be making their North American live debut.
It’s been nearly two years since The Contortionist signed to Good Fight Music and started recording their debut album, Exoplanet, with Unearth’s Ken Susi. Since then, The Contortionist have been shuttling their energy across state lines and international borders. And in February, they'll be heading back into the studio with Jason Suecof and Eyal Levi at Audio Hammer Studios in Florida to start tracking their second album.
