I love a great cover performance. Especially one that has a different take than the original, but remains recognizable. Sometimes I am more interested in listening to great cover than to the original! The artist took something that’s already familiar and added his or her own personality to it. Not only that, but the new performer is paying respect to another artist.

The fifth annual Revolver Golden Gods Awards show presented by Epiphone has gotten even bigger with the announcement of a performance by Danzig, including a Misfits set with Doyle, along with appearances by some of the biggest names in hard rock and heavy metal.
Glenn Danzig, former frontman of The Misfits, is set to release "Devil’s Angels," the first single from his new album of covers. On the album, Danzig takes on tunes by Black Sabbath, Elvis Presley and several other aartist.
Misfits are set to release their first album since 2003's Project 1950 this October. Titled The Devil's Rain, bassist -- and only remaining original member -- Jerry Only calls the album "probably one the more classic-sounding Misfits records."
