ESP is adding dozens of new and updated LTD models to this year’s lineup. “LTD represents the ‘bread-and-butter’ for ESP dealers, with affordable guitars and basses for all levels of musicians,” says Matt Masciandaro, ESP president and CEO.
As part of its 40th anniversary celebration, ESP Guitars (Booth 213D at the 2015 Winter NAMM Show) is highlighting the work of their world-renowned Custom Shop by displaying more than 80 hand-crafted, one-of-a-kind special exhibition guitars and basses.
Three new models are being created for ESP artist Gary Holt of Exodus. The ESP Gary Holt, LTD GH-600EC and LTD GH-200EC are all single-cutaway guitars that are accented in distinctive red-colored design details, and feature Floyd Rose tremolos.
Any guitar that features a flat top, double cutaways, dual humbuckers and a locking Floyd Rose is typically pigeonholed as a “shredder’s guitar,” suggesting a predetermined limit of expression and application. In fact, the platform was originally conceived to correct performance-limiting design flaws and, consequently, addressed the requirements of technically proficient virtuosos, helping them to develop their talents fully.
