Get Up!—Bryan Adams' new album—finds the Canadian rocker reuniting with his longtime songwriting partner, Jim Vallance. This is the same pair that composed many of the guitar-driven songs that became the soundtrack for the Eighties: “Cuts Like a Knife,” “This Time,” “Run to You,” “It’s Only Love” and “Summer of ‘69” to name but a few.
“I never dreamed it would be like that. I was worried that there wouldn't be anybody there by the time we went on because we were last; top of the bill and all that. But once we got on stage it was absolutely fantastic. The crowd just loved it. And it was just so much fun to do because they loved every song, and they sang along with every one of them, louder than me.”
Earlier today, Jeff Lynne premiered another new ELO song, "When the Night Comes." You can hear it below. "When the Night Comes" is the second song from the new ELO album, Alone in the Universe, to be released. It follows "When I Was a Boy," which hit the airwaves last month.
Jeff Lynne announced today that he will release a new Electric Light Orchestra album, his first since the release of Zoom in 2001. Called Alone in the Universe, the album comes out November 13 on Columbia Records and will be available for pre-order beginning September 24.
Today, November 29, is the 11th anniversary of George Harrison's death at age 58. It also happens to be the 10th anniversary of the Concert for George, an event that was co-organized by Harrison’s widow, Olivia, and his close friend Eric Clapton that took place at a packed London's Royal Albert Hall in London.
