We’re excited to share this announcement about a new album from the irrepressible John McLaughlin. It’s called Black Light and it’s due out in October 2015. In the video, McLaughlin shares an excerpt from the buoyant song, “El Hombre Que Sabía,” a heartfelt homage to his departed colleague, collaborator, and friend Paco De Lucia — with whom McLaughlin had intended to compose an album’s worth of new material just before De Lucia’s untimely passing.

On October 7, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City accepted a PRS guitar into its permanent collection.
Guitarist John McLaughlin is set to begin his first US tour in three years. The tour kicks off June 11 in Durham, North Carolina, and will hit Asheville, DC, Bethlehem and Boston. It also will include a three-night stand in New York City at the Blue Note before ending in Toronto June 23.
