For the last week, we've done our best to bring you clips of the four previously unreleased songs Metallica has debuted over the course of their 30th anniversary celebration. While Metallica fan club members already have downloads of all four tracks from the Death Magnetic sessions, Metallica has decided to release all four songs as a digital EP titled Beyond Magnetic.

So as most of you know by now, all the hype around Tool being in the recording studio was just that, and the recording sessions referred to in Tool's November newsletter were for drummer Danny Carey's side project, Volto.
Today, GuitarWorld.com has the exclusive premiere of "Decaying King," a new song by The Dead Lay Waiting, a five-piece band from Swindon, England. "Decaying King" is off the band's upcoming album, Almost Heaven, which drops January 24.
December 9 saw the release of the soundtrack for the upcoming film The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo written by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. Among the tracks was a collaboration between Rezor and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Karen O, a cover of Led Zeppelin's "The Immigrant Song."
On the final night of Metallica's four-show 30th anniversary celebration, Megadeth leader and former Metallica guitarist Dave Mustaine joined his former bandmates onstage for five songs.
