The remaining members of Velvet Revolver -- Slash, Matt Sorum, Duff McKagan and Dave Kushner -- are set to reunite with former lead singer Scott Weiland for a one-off charity gig in honor of the late songwriter John O’Brien.
The Allman Brothers Band are honoring the 40th anniversary of the Eat a Peach album by hailing 2012 as “The Year of the Peach.” They'll kick off the year when they receive a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award February 11 during Grammy Week in Los Angeles; the group will be mentioned on February 12 national TV broadcast.

Today's lick is the verse riff from the song "When You See My Friends," off the self-titled album by my band, May Day Parade. It's a laid-back chord melody figure that incorporates the use of hybrid picking (pick and fingers) and hammer-on and pull-off techniques. My guitar is in drop-D tuning, tuned down one half step (low to high, C♯ G♯ C♯ F♯ A♯ D♯).
