Last week, we visited the Ibanez booth at the 2012 Winter NAMM show in Anaheim, California, to get a good look at the company's new offerings. Among them is the Ibanez 2012 Steve Vai Jem guitar. The guitar, which comes in a beautiful Sea Foam Green finish ("A color that Steve is very fond of"), features a cool Tree of Life neck inlay. Despite its good looks, it's actually the most affordable Jem model that Ibanez makes, with a street price of around $1,399.
Eddie Vedder -- full-time Pearl Jam singer and part-time ukulele strummer -- has announced a 13-city solo tour in support of his 2011 album, Ukulele Songs. The tour, which will last about a month, starts in Las Vegas and wraps up in Orlando, Florida.
Guitar World checked out the Music Man booth at last week's 2012 Winter NAMM show in Anaheim, California, to see what's new -- namely the Music Man JP12 guitar. That's JP is in John Petrucci, of course. The model is the video is finished in Cherry Sugar and has a basswood body, LiquiFire Crunch Lab pickups, and ebony fretboard and stainless steel frets. As the video will show you, there's to see on this guitar -- including the mono and stereo jacks and the magnetic switch.

Like most musicians growing up in the 1970s, Damon Johnson fell in love with the music that is now considered “classic rock.” The volume, the stage presence, the dual guitars — it all spoke to a young man growing up in Alabama and dreaming of being onstage with his idols. Years later, that’s exactly what happened: Johnson was selected to join Alice Cooper’s band in 2004 and is now a member of Thin Lizzy, touring the world with musicians who influenced him as a teen.
It has now officially been announced that Iowa's heaviest export will indeed be headlining the main stage, with a stellar lineup in tow. Hitting the stage directly before Slipknot will be thrash titans Slayer, who will follow a special guest that will be announced on March 5.
