It seems a planned 3D film isn't enough for the incredibly busy members of Metallica. Bassist Robert Trujillo recently told USA Today that he's funding a biopic about the late bass legend Jaco Pastorius.
Slipknot have officially announced the first installment of their very own music festival, Knotfest. The festival will take place over two days, the first being August 17 in Iowa and the second being August 18 in Somerset, on the border of Minnesota and Wisconsin.
This coming weekend, legendary metal band Black Sabbath will be headlining the U.K.'s download festival. In the mean time, however, it seems the band have been quite busy writing material for their upcoming studio album.
Tomorrow, ZZ Top will release an EP called Texicali, featuring four brand-new tracks off their upcoming full-length album. Among the tracks featured on the EP will be "I Gotsta Get Paid," the band's new single which debuted last month in a commercial for Jeremiah Weed.
This month, Metallica are hosting their own festival, the Orion Music + More weekend, which takes place June 23 and 24 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. After that, they'll tour Mexico, where they'll unveil a new 140-by-50-foot stage featuring visual elements spanning their 30-year career.
