They've even named their new album J'aime ta grand-mère (I love your grandmother). "I think we'll open a door for every grandmother who doesn't have a husband anymore so they can find love with a younger person," says lead guitarist Alexandre Parr. "But not grandfathers. Only grandmothers."
Over the weekend, Metallica hit the state at New Orleans' Voodoo Music + Arts Experience in New Orleans in place of original headliners Green Day. Green Day had been forced to pull out following frontman Billie Joe Armstrong checking himself into rehab late in September.

With frontman Billie Joe Armstrong still in rehab for the foreseeable future, Green Day have been forced to cancel their remaining 2012 tour dates, as well as postponing a slate of shows scheduled for January and February of next year.
Gov’t Mule recently released the first installment in their Bootleg Series. The Georgia Bootleg Box is a six-disc set capturing a three-night run from Georgia in 1996. The band was recorded live at The Georgia Theater in Athens on April 11, The Roxy in Atlanta on April 12 and Elizabeth Reed Music Hall in Macon on April 13.
