For today's Flashback Friday video, we're dropping in on Yngwie Malmsteen, circa-1984. Fans who got to see Alcatrazz perform in the early to mid-'80s were treated to bits and pieces of Malmsteen's mastery in pretty much every song — but especially when he took his extended solo breaks.

Joe Satriani — whose new album, Unstoppable Momentum, will be released May 7 by Epic — has announced a US tour. It is set to launch August 29 in San Diego before hitting Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Albuquerque, Denver, Texas, New York, Boston and Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, before winding up in October back on the west coast.

Black Sabbath have confirmed a 20-city North American trek that kicks off July 25 in Houston, Texas. The tour also will include stops in Philadelphia, Boston, Tinley Park (Chicago), San Francisco and other major markets, along with the previously announced stops in Holmdel, New Jersey; Los Angeles, Seattle and Toronto, Ontario.
