An award-winning player, Steve Trovato has written 40 instructional books, released 30 DVDs, contributed columns to guitar magazines, and is heralded as an educator at the University of Southern California’s Studio Jazz Department. In January 2011, he headlined the winter NAMM All Star Guitar Night in Anaheim, accompanied by his longtime friend and colleague Carl Verheyen, bassist Stu Hamm and drummer Danny Gottlieb.

Recently, Bayside, Indaba Music and Guitar World gave imaginative guitar players the opportunity to create a solo for "Already Gone," Bayside's latest single. Guitar players from around the world recorded their unique solos, then uploaded their entries to indabamusic.com so that a panel of judges, including the band, could decide on a winner.
With the release of Inheritors and a healthy run of summer and fall tours, Madison, Wisconsin's Serianna are celebrating the fruits of their labor by preparing for more hard work. Guitar World caught up with guitarist James Milbrandt, who, along with Kris Meyer-Ruef, make up the band's lacerating guitar duo. The rest of the band includes Chris Nutting, vocals; Chris Ferraro, drums; and Lee Milbrandt, bass.

Back in 1996, Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor introduced German band Rammstein to the unsuspecting general public of the United States. Reznor, who was selecting music for the David Lynch film Lost Highway, chose the songs "Heirate Mich" and "Rammstein" for the soundtrack.
We were making Tales from Topographic Oceans, and we were in a studio called Morgon. It was the first 24 track-studio in London, and we were there for four months. When we got in the studio, being post-hippie, we needed to make it a bit friendly. Jon said, "I'd like a bathroom to sing in." So he had three walls brought in, tiled, and he sung in a booth with three walls of tiles so it sounded like his bathroom. Jon and I were having a lot of fun.
