It’s been nearly two years since The Contortionist signed to Good Fight Music and started recording their debut album, Exoplanet, with Unearth’s Ken Susi. Since then, The Contortionist have been shuttling their energy across state lines and international borders. And in February, they'll be heading back into the studio with Jason Suecof and Eyal Levi at Audio Hammer Studios in Florida to start tracking their second album.

German progressive metal quartet Obscura are working toward releasing Illegitimation, a collection of demos spanning the band's career. The guys premiered a demo version of "Incarnated" earlier this week on GuitarWorld.com, and have now sent over another pre-production demo from Cosmogenesis, "Open the Gates."
