Whether or not there will be a new Tool album this year remains to be seen, but one thing we do know for sure is that frontman Maynard James Keenan will be taking his solo act, Puscifer, on the road this summer.

While that may sound painfully obvious, I have encountered many talented "bedroom shredders" who find it impossible to translate their woodshed chops to the stage environment.

So as most of you know by now, all the hype around Tool being in the recording studio was just that, and the recording sessions referred to in Tool's November newsletter were for drummer Danny Carey's side project, Volto.
Speaking to The Pulse Of Radio, Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan confirmed that tool were indeed writing a new album, but that no recording had begun just yet, making it hard to pin down a release time frame.
Members of Rush, the Police, Primus and Tool have joined forces in what could loosely be called a "super group," though would probably be more accurately described as one amazing jam session caught on film.
