Too bad Daniel San's finger-syncing was so fake, but yeah, I'll watch it some time. :P

What about almost famous, awesome guitar, music movie great actors good script actors actually learned to play for the movie. That thing you do not a rock music movie but still good.

Light of Day?
Really?

I found that movie dreadfully boring.
I might replace it with The Rocker (but that was kind of a School of Rock clone), A Mighty Wind or Wayne's World (first one)
But then those are similar to something on this list (Christopher Guest et al & Wayne's World)
So maybe Honeydripper.
Yeah--let's go with that.

This is Spinal tap would be first.

The bar scene from Eddie & the Crusers 2 should have been on this list for sure http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSIzXE3XNys

Great list! As a kid, every weekend, I'd watch the end part of Crossroads, rewind it, watch the whole thing, then watch the end part again- :) And I still have a copy of it, and to this day my girlfriend hasn't watched it with me! lol!

blaCk snake moan should be on this list

Funny thing about that is Steve Vai had to go re-record his "losing" part over because the producers thought it wasn't convincing enough. And He played Ralph Maccio's part too!!

Steve Vai did not play Ralph Macchio's parts in Crossroads, but Ry Cooder did.

Ry Cooder played Macchio's slide parts, Vai plays the classical piece that he wins with.

I thought Vai played the part at the end where the Karate Kid beats him...
