Video: Eddie Van Halen Guitar Solo at Rehearsal Gig in Los Angeles
Van Halen played a special "rehearsal" show last night at the Forum in Los Angeles to an invite-only crowd. Fan-filmed footage of Eddie Van Halen taking a guitar solo -- that features some big chunks of "Eruption" -- has made its way online, and we've got it below.
"Van Halen was killer tonight at the Forum," said Slash via his Twitter account. "Eddie was brilliant. So amazing to hear/watch."
The show comes less than two weeks from the start of Van Halen's North American tour in support of their new album, A Different Kind of Truth, which was released this past Tuesday.
We're still taking your reviews of Van Halen's new album. Head here to have your say!
The Eddie Van Halen Guitar World Box Set is a limited-edition package that includes all four Guitar World February 2009 issues, each of which has a unique cover photo featuring Eddie Van Halen with a different version of his new EVH Wolfgang guitar. It's available now at the Guitar World Online Store.

He hasn't lost a step... still sounds like the "punk kid" that I first saw at MSG opening for Sabbath in '79.
Throughout all the offstage rumblings in the past, this is what it's all about. The new record sounds great; Van Halen now with a glance back to the past.
There may be some who may not like the current VH, and that's OK; I've been a fan since '78 and though there are records I've liked less than others, there is still that consistency which is Eddie's guitar and writing.
Can't wait for the tour!

I miss Michael Anthony but Edward proves he is still the king in my book.
