Video: The Story Behind "The Wind Cries Mary" by Jimi Hendrix

Fascinating. I would love to hear each track 'solo'. Jimi's vocal is as great as his composing that is as great as his guitar work.

Hard to believe that one of the greatest songs in rock history was recorded in just 20 minutes, including overdubs. The Wind Cries Mary, and All Along The Watchtower, both have a sound so incredible, and so unique, they just blow my mind. I remember my best friend bought "Are You Experienced", and I bought "Crosby, Stills, and Nash", and I just didn't see the fascination with Hendrix. How stupid could I be. I might have been slow to appreciate it, but I soon discovered what a genius Hendrix was. Still some of my favorite songs of all time.

Are You Experienced was the first LP I bought with my very own money as a teen. Hendrix so regrettably had that accident that claimed him two months later. That record will remain in the pantheon of rock's best forever.
